For Sale: 1992 Cadillac Allante in Abington, Massachusetts for sale in Abington, MA
Vehicle Description Here we have a clean, 76K mile, Allante from arguably the best year.
The rarest of the bunch with just 1,698 built that year! Pre Northstar so it's got the reliable and easy to service, 4.
5 V8.
Fully equipped, these cars were a whopping $60K new in 1992! A fantastic back story to these cars too as they were assembled in Italy by Pininfarina and sent to the states via special 747 jets for final assembly in Michigan! They called it the worlds longest assembly line.
Look it up.
It's a great story and this car is a surviving member.
This car is finished in it's original coat of Champagne Metallic which still shines like new.
The original light tan leather interior shows very nicely also with just some minor seat wear.
This car is not perfect however.
I'm a sucker for an underdog and I'm a sucker for one that deserves a better life.
I found this car languishing in a local driveway over the summer and I just had to save it.
My intention was to do more than I already have to bring it up a level just time has gotten in the way and now old man winter is fast approaching.
It needs to move to it's next caretaker.
We just recently replaced the valve cover gaskets and oil pan seals to cure it's oil leaks.
We also changed the oil, cleaned the fuel system and installed new AC Delco spark plugs.
She still runs a little rich at cold start but quickly settles down.
Rides down the road nice.
Plenty of power.
Transmission is smooth and quiet, ect Full options and most work well.
Power locks are inop and the A/C is only semi cool but runs and activates.
All on board monitors work.
Indicates low coolant and after some investigating it seems the radiator has been changed and the replacements do not have an opening for the low level sensor so the code is tripped even though there are no coolant issues.
These cars were WAY OVERENGINEERED.
Car was a snow bird, spending Summers in Maryland and winters in Florida a majority of it's life.
Some interior components show warping as a result of the Florida sun.
Most notably the very forward edge of the dashboard at the defroster vent and the glove box door (see pics).
There is an AMAZING following with these cars with great support.
Both with information and parts.
