For Sale: 1951 Studebaker Champion in Abington, Massachusetts for sale in Abington, MA

1 of 50
Vehicle Description Feast your eyes on the super spectacular and super iconic, bullet nose Studebaker from 1951! Hard to believe the bullet nose design was only used for two model years (50-51).
Here we have a super RARE convertible model! Less than 4 percent of production was in convertible form! How many of those survive today? I'd venture to say very few! Finished in it's original color, Maui Blue, this car was restored in the early 1980's.
Found languishing in a garage in downtown Boston.
Wearing a 1968 inspection sticker, it's then owner decided, even then, this car deserved better.
The restoration started almost immediately and most of the sheet metal, trim and chrome garnishing was replaced with NOS in the box, ORIGINAL Studebaker parts.
Some undercarriage work was also performed and was professionally done to a high standard.
No corners were cut with it's rebirth.
The interior was also renewed at that time with a very tasteful and proper light plaid pattern with off white trimmings.
The convertible top also.
A white cloth with the correct rear GLASS window (see pics).
The 40 year old restoration has held up fantastically as you can see.
The car was used primarily for events, shows and pleasure cruises only.
It's long term owner is a very active member of the local and national Studebaker clubs.
A true fan of the brand.
Mechanically the car is equipped with the 196ci flathead straight six and that's mated to a smooth shifting three speed manual transmission.
Yes, the car is also equipped with factory overdrive.
A big plus.
A very turn key cruiser you can start enjoying on day one.
We have a thick folder of receipts that accompany the car and chronicles it's repair and maintenance history.
Always serviced by a local, Studebaker only mechanic.
Some of the larger items listed are a rebuilt cylinder head and a rebuilt brake system.
Just to name a couple.
The list is much too long to type here.
Some items to mention.
The power top is only operated manually now as at some point, the hydraulic pistons for the top were removed (the manual operation is super easy.
).
The original AM radio does not operate as also, the rare, original accessory clock.
All safety features work fine.
Lights, wipers, horn, ect.
No problem passing your state inspection.
